Scenario:
You are to “pretend” you and your family are migrating during some historical migration in history. You need to include the trials and tribulations your family encounters. This can take place during any historical migration you’d like, think of those migration events we discussed in class, something you have researched or even something you have read about. You may change or “create” your family in anyway you wish. Your journal entries can take place over any length of time and can start and begin during any part of the migration event.
You are required to do the following…
1. Write an introduction about your family’s migration. Be sure to tell us about your family. Include when, where from and where to your family is migrating. You will also need to explain in detail WHY your family is migrating. Incorporate the “push-pull” factors you have learned about. This is separate from your 6 journal entries.
2. Write least six QUALITY journal entries. Be sure they are dated and well written. Each entry needs to be at least six sentences! Your entries need to explain what is happening to your family, be sure to include positive and negative aspects to your daily lives.
3. Include at least three QUALITY illustrations in your journal. Each picture needs to relate to the topic.
4. Create an interesting cover to your journal. This should be well thought out and related to the topic.
5. A map needs to be included in the journal. Your map needs to indicate where your family is from, where they have traveled to and their final destination. This can be downloaded off the computer or drawn (neatly) by you. Be sure to label cities and countries on your map.
* You will be sharing these journals with a group, but you will NOT be required to present them….unless you want to.
